MICPA volunteers needed at statewide Securing Mi Financial Future events in October

by MICPA | Sep 09, 2015   ()

Last year, MICPA members answered the call from CPA Governor Rick Snyder to volunteer to provide free financial checkups at Reinventing Mi Retirement events across the state. We need your expertise to help this year!

This year's initiative, called Securing Mi Financial Future, has two focus areas: Building Mi Financial Future for people between the ages of 25 and 49 and Reinventing Mi Retirement for people age 50 years and older.

There are three events planned for Building Mi Financial Future and two for Reinventing Mi Retirement being held at five locations across the state. The events are free and aimed at helping Michiganders better prepare financially for their future.

MICPA members are being asked to volunteer to provide one-on-one "QuickCheck" financial checkups for attendees. Dates and locations are as follows:

Building Mi Financial Future (for attendees between ages 25-49)
October 8 – Detroit, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago-Detroit Branch, 5 - 8 p.m.
October 13 – East Lansing, MSU Henry Center, 5 – 8 p.m.
October 15 – Adrian, LISD Tech Center, 5 – 8 p.m.

Reinventing Mi Retirement (for attendees ages 50+)
October 19 – Bay City, Doubletree Riverfront Hotel, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
October 26 – Traverse City, Park Place Hotel, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
