Winners Honored at 2015 MICPA Awards Dinner

MICPA members and partners who have gone above and beyond in the profession were honored last week at the 2015 MICPA Awards Dinner. Nearly 300 people were in attendance on Sept. 30 at the Shenandoah Country Club in West Bloomfield to watch as awards were given in categories including Distinguished Achievement, Diversity & Inclusion, Outstanding Visionary and Public Service.

Governor Rick Snyder, CPA made a surprise (video) appearance, wishing his old colleague and outgoing chair of the board, Doug Roosa, well and thanking him for his past year of service to the association.

Top award winners at the event included:

  • Treasurer Nick A. Khouri, State of Michigan: Chair’s Service Award
  • Alan J. Schefke, Bureau of Commercial Services: Chair’s Service Award
  • Randolph C. Paschke, Wayne State University: Distinguished Achievement Award
  • Steven D. Kelly, Rehmann: Distinguished Service Award
  • Jack Martin, Martin, Arrington, Desai & Meyers, PC: Distinguished Service Award
  • LaKeisha M. Florence, Deloitte LLP: Diversity & Inclusion Award
  • Tommye E. Barie, AICPA Chair of the Board: Outstanding Visionary Award
  • Lori J. Baker, Baker Holtz CPAs and Advisors: Public Service Award
