IRS Relaunches Get Transcript Online with More Rigorous e-Authentication
The IRS relaunched its Get Transcript Online service with a more rigorous e-authentication process expected to significantly increase protection against identity thieves. After being disabled last spring, Get Transcript Online is now available for all users to access a copy of their tax transcripts and similar documents that summarize important tax return information.

MICPA Annual Meeting Notification
In accordance with the MICPA Bylaws, Article 8, Section 1, an Annual Meeting of the Association shall be held each year within six months after the last day of the fiscal year. The time and place of the Annual Meeting shall be designated by the Board of Directors and the members shall be notified by mail communication or by publication in an official publication of the Association. This year’s Annual Meeting is scheduled for September 20, 2016 and will be webcast.

AICPA Member Ballot Results
Voting on the AICPA’s member ballot regarding its proposal with CIMA ends on Thursday, June 16 at 5 p.m. ET. On Saturday, June 18, AICPA and CIMA vote results will be announced to coincide with CIMA’s Annual General Meeting.

New Federal Tax Law May Affect Some Refunds Filed in Early 2017
Effective in 2017, a new law requires the IRS to hold all Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) refunds until Feb. 15. This is likely to affect some returns submitted early in the tax-filing season. READ MORE
