Assist Victims of Former Oncologist Farid Fata with Claims

by MICPA | Aug 26, 2016   ()
Your assistance is needed as a volunteer to help patients and their family members who were victims of the former oncologist Farid Fata who poisoned many of his patients for profit. Your volunteer role consists of helping victims complete the proper forms and the documentation required to file a restitution claim before October 5, 2016. The claim form(s), and additional information regarding the restitution process can be reviewed at www.fataclaims.com.

Volunteer commitment includes the following:
  • A four-hour training session Wednesday, August 31 from 1 – 5pm at the US Attorney’s office, 211 W. Fort Street, Suite 2001, Detroit, 48226. Volunteers must attend this training to participate.
  • Four-hour, in person assistance at the Common Ground Pontiac office between September 6 – October 5, 2016 (minimum request of one session each week for two weeks) located at 1200 N. Telegraph, Bldg. 32 East, Pontiac, MI 48341. You are welcome to volunteer for more sessions.
Some cases may take more than one session to complete. In those situations, you will be asked to stay with the case until completion, which might require scheduling follow-up appointments.
If you have any questions, please bring them to the training session and they will be addressed. Once you commit as a volunteer, more information and parking instructions will be sent from the U.S. Attorney’s office.

To sign up as a volunteer and for training, please send Emily VanMeter an email providing your full name, email, and phone number by noon Tuesday, August 30 or sooner.
