MICPA Expands Flint Programming with Back-to-Back Education Programs

The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants continues to expand programming in Flint with back-to-back continuing education events.

The two programs will be held May 15 and 16 at the Holiday Gateway Center, 5353 Gateway Center, Flint.

The first program, Advanced Concepts in SSARS 21 and Nonattest Services: Are You Certain You’re in Compliance, is scheduled for May 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The second program, Accounting, Audit and Attest Update for Practitioners with Small Business Clients, will be held May 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“It’s important for MICPA to continue to bring new education and materials to our members,” said Dan Kolasinski, director of program development for the MICPA. “Providing more opportunities to our members in Flint will benefit the entire community, and we know these topics are important to accountants.”

Advanced Concepts and Nonattest Services targets CPAs who provide non-audit services to balance providing value-added client services, complying with regulatory and professional standards and mitigating litigation and other practice management risks. The course will use case studies and real-life examples to demonstrate the topics.

The second day of programming focuses on clients who do non-audit business with small to medium businesses. Accounting, Audit and Attest Update will review updated standards and professional guidelines impacting small- to medium-sized businesses. The course will use real examples and case studies to help attendees understand and apply materials.
