Sessions Will Focus on Auto Dealers, Construction and Insurance Industries

The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants is hosting a conference for those working in automotive, construction and insurance industries.

The program, titled Automotive Dealers, Construction Industry, Controllers and Insurance Conference, will offer a different track for each area of expertise. Each track will cover topics and trends for each industry and how each industry impacts businesses in Michigan.

The session is scheduled for Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Laurel Manor, 3900 Schoolcraft Road, Livonia.

“The automotive, construction and insurance industries are all integral to how we do business here in Michigan,” said Pam Hill, Chair of the MICPA Automotive Dealers Task Force. “Each deals with specific regulations, and each faces issues unique to their industry. We want those to leave the conference with a better understanding of areas that will enhance their ability to grow.”

Attendees will see ties to how these industries impact the Michigan economy and lessons learned from the Great Recession. A general session will discuss the diversification of Michigan’s economy with an emphasis on continuing growth in the state.

“The Michigan economy is continuing to bounce back,” Pam Hill said. “We see job growth in industries like insurance and construction. This conference is geared towards these industries, which demonstrate huge potential to impact the state in the coming years.”

Each track provides specialized courses to help equip attendees with the most up-to-date information, including managing tax regulation, harnessing technology and keeping up with cyber security.

Registration is $229 for MICPA members and $379 for non-members and available by visiting
