Members may now post internship opportunities to the MICPA Career Center at no charge. Employers who post internships will also be able to browse resumes of available students. “This new member service will help our members fill important internship jobs,” said Jody Skonieczny, MICPA vice president, Member Engagement. “At the same time, it will expand access to opportunities for our student members and help them build strong careers as CPAs in Michigan.”  CAREER CENTER

LARA Announces New Corporations Online Filing System
Beginning Oct. 30, a new Corporations Online Filing System (COFS) may make doing business with the state easier. The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs recently announced that COFS will include online document submission, expanded search functionality, email subscription notification service, after-hours system availability and more. Read the letter going out to business entities and an FAQ with need-to-know information about the new COFS.  READ MORE

Eligible corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships can now renew their assumed names online using Assumed Name Renewals Online.  Businesses who received Certificates of Renewal of Assumed Name, which were sent in September, may renew assumed names online for an additional five years.
