Congratulations, Peggy!

The MICPA Board of Directors, members and staff extend a heartfelt congratulations to Peggy Dzierzawski on two incredible milestones: her 45th anniversary with the Association and 22nd year serving as president and CEO.

Over her illustrious career with the MICPA, Peggy has worked in every department, developing a broad base of knowledge and experience in all aspects of association management. She was named deputy director in 1992 and earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in 1995.

In 1997, after a national search to replace their retiring executive, the MICPA board determined their top candidate was already in their midst. Peggy was named president and CEO, charged with leading the organization into the new millennium.

Confirmation of her ability to lead a dynamic organization was further cemented when Peggy was selected to the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) Hall of Fame in 2006 and named as one of Detroit’s Most Influential Women, by Crain’s in 2007.

Peggy brings enormous creative energy, determination and the ability to take any project from concept to implementation. She continues to make significant contributions to both the association management and accounting professions, and is among the most highly regarded executives of all 50 state CPA societies.

Frequently called upon by AICPA leadership and countless others, Peggy has provided guidance for numerous national initiatives, including: improving financial literacy, developing a vision for the future of the profession and a national diversity and inclusion effort.

Peggy continues to successfully collaborate with other organizations - including NABA, ALPFA, Accounting Aid Society, Race for the Cure and Hospice of Michigan - to strengthen the accounting profession and benefit the citizens of Michigan.

Throughout her incredible career, Peggy has fostered solid relationships with regulators and legislators and increased member involvement in our advocacy efforts. She spearheaded innovative student recruitment initiatives to support the future of the profession, while also working to provide value and resources for all members.

Always putting members and the community first, Peggy is an unparalleled and passionate leader who strives for excellence.

Congratulations and thank you, Peggy, for 45 years of dedicated service to the MICPA and our mission!
