Catch up on what Bob has to say:

We’ve continued to have the opportunity to partner with many different organizations to support each other and businesses throughout the state of Michigan. Our partnership with the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM), the State of Michigan, Rocket Mortgage and DTE Energy where we put together our resources and launch the mipaycheckprotection.com website was great. Since we launched it after the CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program was announced, many small businesses have been able to take advantage of the information provided. Thousands of companies have received funding with the hope that this will allow them to stay afloat and eventually lead to a recovery.

There have been a lot of questions and confusion related to the program. We received over 225 unique questions from small businesses throughout the state that our team of CPA volunteers have answered. It’s amazing what a group of people can do! We also created a FAQ document that many people took advantage of to navigate through the application process.

There are certainly more questions regarding the PPP and other issues especially centered on small businesses. Their needs continue as they work to get through this crisis. As we’ve navigated the challenges and changes created by COVID-19, most of us have been as concerned about our fiscal health as we have been with our physical health.

Michigan’s Certified Public Accountants will be the economic first responders for the state’s financial recovery. With over 19,000 members, the MICPA is working to provide small businesses with the information, guidance and resources needed to survive this difficult moment in time.

Our thought leadership is currently developing on a toolkit to guide our members and all businesses across the state as we prepare to come back. Please keep an eye out for this valuable resource.

Meanwhile, on Friday, May 22 at 10:00am, we’re partnering with SBAM to present a webcast on π˜œπ˜―π˜₯𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘡𝘒𝘯π˜₯π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨 π˜΅π˜©π˜¦ π˜•π˜¦π˜Έπ˜π˜Ί π˜™π˜¦π˜π˜¦π˜’𝘴𝘦π˜₯ π˜—π˜—π˜— π˜“π˜°π˜’𝘯 π˜π˜°π˜³π˜¨π˜ͺ𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 π˜ˆπ˜±π˜±π˜π˜ͺ𝘀𝘒𝘡π˜ͺ𝘰𝘯.

The presentation will be led by three of our member volunteer CPAs (two of which are MICPA board members) who are working on our toolkit. They include:
