The Michigan Association of CPAs is proud to celebrate our 120^th anniversary in 2021. Founded in 1901, the association was established, first and foremost, to support the certified public accountants practicing in the state of Michigan, with a mission to enhance their success and value to society.

Accounting (the language of business) has continued to evolve – from a record-keeping system dating back thousands of years to the formation of the CPA profession title in 1896 and the automated systems prevalent today. Technological advancements and events like the COVID-19 pandemic have increased the rapidity of change in all businesses, and specifically for those in this profession. The CPA, once known as a number-cruncher or bookkeeper, has a fully cemented role as a relied upon trusted advisor, recognized for their essential business function by companies or clients around the globe.

Building upon our strong foundation as an association and recognizing the needs of CPAs today and going forward, we have worked alongside our Board of Directors to develop a new enhanced mission and vision for the future. At our core, we are your ACE… here to Advocate, Collaborate, and Educate so that you can be at your best. And, as an association, we are dedicated to serving you, the CPA profession, and the public you serve for years to come.
