The AICPA Legacy Scholarships each award between $3,000 - $10,000 to recipients. Applying for one scholarship automatically applies the student to every applicable legacy scholarship, but time is running out. Application deadline for this one is today, Mar. 15 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Not able to make the deadline? The AICPA George Willie scholarship program, open to racial and ethnic minorities, is also open for application from now through Apr. 30.
Also closing today, Mar. 15, at 11:59 p.m. PST (that’s 8:59 p.m. EST), is the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) National Scholarship Program. This scholarship is open to NABA student members and awards from $1,500 - $3,000 to eligible recipients.
Trying to earn a doctorate? The AICPA Accounting Doctors Scholars Program awards $20,000 to eligible applicants and just opened for applications. This one is open all the way until September, but the MICPA recommends getting your scholarship applications in as early as possible.
The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting offers multiple scholarships to women working toward their degree in accounting with awards ranging from $1,000 - $2,000. As with the AICPA Legacy program, one application applies for them all. This window of opportunity closes on Apr. 30, so don’t wait to apply for this one.
The Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund offers up to $5,000 to selected eligible recipients. Applicants need not be enrolled in the military to apply but must be a dependent child/stepchild (natural or adopted) or non-uniformed spouse of a U.S. Navy Active Duty, Retired, Honorably Discharged, Reserve or deceased Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy. Applications are due Apr. 1.
Finally, the AIS Technolabs Scholarship Program for accounting students offers up to $5000 for selected undergraduate and graduate student recipients. This application includes a project, so those interested in pursuing the award may want to get started soon as applications close on May 15.
