The Michigan Association of CPAs Hosts 2024 Awards to Honor the Brightest and Best in Accounting

TROY, MICHIGAN, 10/29/2024 – The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) announced the winners of its 2024 awards program, Celebrate, which recognizes the outstanding contributions of individual and organizational leadership today, while paving the way for the leaders of tomorrow.  

The Celebrate awards will take place at the Gem Theatre in Detroit on November 13 at 5:00 p.m. to honor CPAs and organizations making positive contributions to the future of the accounting profession, Michigan communities, and the business world. The event will also support future generations of CPAs through fundraising for the Michigan Accountancy Foundation which awards scholarships to accounting students, provides grants to educators and promotes career opportunities in accounting.  

Emceed by Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist and retired Fox 2 News anchor, Huel Perkins, the event will highlight eight recipients. 

The MICPA will recognize the following individuals and organizations with awards: 

  • Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award – Hungerford  

  • Volunteer of the Year – Anthony Rosenblum, CPA, Business Development Director, BDO  

The evening will congratulate recipients of the 2024 Women to Watch Awards including Emerging Leader Katie Connell, CPA, audit & assurance senior manager, Deloitte, and Experienced Leader Peggy Haw Jury, CPA, CGMA, retired partner, Plante Moran and peer review CPA on staff for the MICPA as well as the Thomas M. Hoatlin Award honoree, Wayne Roberts, member and co-chair of business practice, Bodman PLC.The Women to Watch Awards were presented in October at the Women to Watch breakfast in Birmingham and the Thomas M. Hoatlin Award will be presented at the Michigan Tax Conference in November.
