Empower Award

Recognizes a CPA, CPA firm, or accounting team that builds an inclusive workplace, supports CPA licensure, and enhances employee well-being and engagement.

The nomination deadline to submit is Monday, June 8, 2026.

Nominee Requirements:
  • Individual nominees must be MICPA members and submit a letter of recommendation. 
  • Firm or team nominations require at least one MICPA member within the organization.
Awards Criteria:
  • Builds a workplace culture of inclusion and belonging through policies, practices, or individual leadership that ensures all employees feel welcomed, supported, and part of the team.
  • Expands access to tools, benefits, and resources by implementing or advocating for improvements that remove barriers and support employee success. This could include CPA licensure assistance, wellness programs, or professional development.
  • Strengthens employee engagement and retention through actions or influence such as flexible work, equitable pay, mentorship, regular feedback, and meaningful recognition.

Community-focused initiatives may also be considered when they enhance employee engagement or well-being.
