Earlier this year, the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) began the process of transitioning away from its legacy MiWAM system to the new MiUI platform. Phase one of the rollout brought tax administration features online. The second phase will introduce benefit functions and is set to go live on Nov. 9. Following the successful completion of phase two, MiWAM will no longer be accessible. MICPA members are encouraged to visit the MiUI University for FAQs, videos, blogs, trainings and other resources to help prepare before the launch.
