Saving At a Young Age

The topic of Financial Literacy is a passion of mine. Personally, I have seen how a lack of knowledge can affect others’ lives at any age. Many of us learn habits at a young age. If you are not used to setting aside a certain amount into savings each payday, it can be a difficult habit to start at a later age, although not impossible.

The topic of Financial Literacy is a passion of mine. Personally, I have seen how a lack of knowledge can affect others’ lives at any age. Many of us learn habits at a young age. As an adult, it can be difficult to navigate paying bills, managing your budget and saving for bigger items or retirement. If you are not used to setting aside a certain amount into savings each payday, it can be a difficult habit to start at a later age, although not impossible. Starting the habit of saving 5 - 10% of any money you earn at a young age and carrying that into adulthood can have a significant impact on your life. This habit can help minimize the impact of surprise expenses or the loss of a job. Financial Literacy can help lessen the impact of some of those challenging times in life by having the knowledge of how to manage your money to the best of your ability.
