The Michigan Department of Treasury (Treasury) has issued updated guidance providing state tax relief for individuals and businesses in areas affected by severe weather across the state in April 2026.
The Michigan Department of Treasury (Treasury) has issued updated guidance providing state tax relief for individuals and businesses in areas affected by severe weather across the state in April 2026. Following a state of emergency declaration covering more than 30 counties and two cities, eligible taxpayers may request additional time to file returns or make payments without penalty or interest. Relief is not automatic and must be requested directly through Treasury.
